Springfield, Illinois Local 37
My name is Deputy
Division Chief Bob Reside of the Springfield IL. Fire Department. I am an
unofficial photographer for the department. The picture you are
referring to was just one of those lucky "at the right place at the
right time" photos. Most residential structure fires are knock
down before I have a chance to arrive. The main reason that I like this
picture is that the Battalion Chief (Jim Serra) in the white helmet was
just promoted to Battalion Chief that morning and this was his first
working fire.
