Light a candle in remembrance of a Fallen F.D.N.Y. Brother!

May we never foreget!  Worldwide our firefighters are always there in the worst times of our lives, unconditionally, never questioning, always helping.  May we always remember them from yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Sandra Mayr, Ontario, Canada - 2005

Those three hundred and forty-three,
All became heroes that day.
They sacrificed their lives for others,
It didn't have to be that way.
They could have turned around,
And said to each other "get out."
Instead, they climbed higher still,
Listening, for even a shout.
Then, the heat overcame the metal.
With a loud roar, the metal gave way.
Those three hundred and forty-three,
All became heroes that day.

In memory of all of our fallen brothers in New York.
We still love you, and we will NEVER forget.

Kenny, I don't know how not to feel a deep sadness when I think of you, Katrina, and your wonderful children.  It just seemed so unnecessary for someone as giving as yourself, alive four years ago today, to be taken.  I am filled with great anger when I think of those who attacked the towers and caused your death and this unbearable pain to the entire city.  I don't know, maybe you think that I'm silly for writing all of this, being in my wheelchair and not able to participate in things like military action or something that would maybe make me feel like I was doing something right to help this situation, but know that we all feel for you and we all miss you.  You mean a lot to us,

Tom
